Lot 1503 Joan Tabor
American actress (1932–1968), with numerous TV appearances in the 50s and 60s including Mister Ed, Bat Masterson, and Perry Mason. She had a tumultuous relationship with husband Broderick Crawford and died quite young, at the age of 36, after accidentally overdosing on influenza medication. Tabor’s rare yellow AFTRA union P&W benefits card, one page, both sides, 6 x 4, dated January 1, 1959. Pension and Welfare benefit card is filled out, most likely in Tabor’s hand, listing her full name, LA address, birthdate, and Social Security number. Signed at the bottom in blue fountain pen “Joan Tabor.” On the reverse, she lists her daughter and on the front her mother, as recipients of her death benefits. Stamped across the front of the card is “Deceased.” Several office notations, including the address being crossed out, aforementioned stamp, perforated bottom edge, and tiny partial punch hole to top edge, otherwise fine condition.
